The Green Cultural Association, ViSiLi maintains The
Green Cultural and Educational Centre,ViSiO.
ViSiO is one of the 11 study centres in Finland.
Study centres are liberal adult education institutions. The centres are not
tied to specific school or college buildings; study centre courses and study
circles are taken to where the people are: in their own organizations, in
training centres or even in peoples' homes. Study centre courses do not lead to
a qualification. They are aimed, instead, at developing the skills and know-how
of individuals and organizations. More than 200,000 learners participate in
study centre courses each year. The study centres are financed by the Ministry
of Education.
The Green Cultural Association is founded in 1990. The member
field of the association consists of regional and local green party
organisations, The Finnish Green League, immigrant organisations and
organisations promoting a sustainable lifestyle.
The Green Cultural and Educational Centre ViSiO promotes
non-formal education in a green point of view. Visio supports and organises
courses and study circles around following themes
- environment
issues
- sustainable
development
- active
citizenship
- immigration
issues
